Not-Quite Japanese Gyoza (Gluten Free)

Well, these are almost gyoza –  I don’t think baking them really qualifies.  I was trying to make pot sticker versions, but being too lazy to make my own wrappers I decide to try using rice paper instead.  There were many such recipes on the Internet so I thought it would work.  Unfortunately my first batch either stuck to the pan or completely disintegrated, so as dinner time was fast approaching, I brushed the rest with oil and baked them in the oven.  Not quite what I had intended, but very yummy just the same!

So here is my not-quite gyoza recipe.

If you were to make it again would you bake them or pan fry them?
Thanks so much for your website it has been a lifesaver for me over the past year as I have attempted to navigate my way through a late in life development of Salicylate intolerance.

Thanks for the feed back, I’m glad the recipes are helping you.

I don’t think I would try pan frying with the rice paper again, the baked ones were really good, and easier in the end.
