Yesterday my blog books arrived. I used the SharedBook site to create a cook book from the recipes on my blog as gifts to my parents and in-laws. There’s no chance of spoiling the surprise by writing about it here – when my mum wanted to make chicken rissoles for Oscar I told her there was a recipe on my blog; her response was “oh…….I’m sure I can come up with something”.
The books are fantastic, I’m really impressed with how they turned out. I used Everything2print instead of blog2print (same site) as I wanted to include some of the content on my pages and the only way to do that was to copy those pages to Word and upload the word documents to the book.
I created laminated soft cover colour books, and the covers and printing look so much better than I expected they would. The books were delivered in 2 weeks from the US.
Each book was US$25.95 for 64 pages and shipping for 3 books was US$20.50. Given the great state of the Aussie dollar at the moment, the total was just over AUD$100.
The only thing I wasn’t 100% happy with was the layout due to some of the spacings between pictures and captions, but this was due to the layout of my blogs – which I have now changed so that the next book will be even better.
Never ever seen this before, love it, will have tom get one of these too.
Ooh, I always wanted to make one but never got to. They are truly a great idea!
