One of the reasons I love Allergy Train is that I am always finding new products to try. One I found a little while ago is this
Brown Rice Mochi. Its a Japanese product made from sticky brown rice and comes in hard little rectangles, that can be baked or fried and served either sweet or savoury.I found some Mochi recipes at
Grainaissance and decide to try them with maple syrup.

Mochi and Maple Syrup |
- Preheat the oven to 180 C.
- Place the Mochi onto a lined baking tray and ccok for 7 to 8 minutes until the mochi look puffed and cracked.
- Cut in half, place on a serving dish and top with maple syrup.
- Serve.
Oscar wasn’t too keen on them, but I like Japanese sticky rice desserts and sweets, so they were just up my alley. The mochi itself has quite a bland (rice) flavour, so it can be combined with almost anything.
