I shared a photo and recipe on Facebook earlier today from Easy to Avoid for a fizzy drink made with maple syrup and ascorbic acid. When we got home this afternoon after visiting my gorgeous new niece we were all in need of an icy cold drink, so I thought I would try it out. I didn’t have any ascorbic acid so I used tartaric acid (half for Oscar as he doesn’t like tangy flavours) and added some pear syrup as well. It was a big hit with both of us, so since we are in the middle of heatwave I thought I’d share it straight away and let you all try it for yourself. I really like the tangy version and I think I could add a shot of vodka to it as well.
